PhD Environmental Science and Engineering, ESE
This doctoral program is an interdisciplinary doctoral program to prepare scientists and engineers to address environmental issues facing this region, the nation, and the word. The program produces graduates who can apply cross and inter-disciplinary perspectives to the understanding, management, and remediation of human impacts on the environment.
The program is designed for individuals with environmentally-related master’s degrees in engineering or the natural, health or social sciences. The degree includes course work that provides disciplinarily broad baseline knowledge as well as in-depth knowledge in fields related to a students’ dissertation topic. The core course work also emphasizes environmental policy, law, and ethics, providing graduates with an understanding of the social and political context of environmental issues.
